Staying true to its commitment to “local learning, rooted in community,” PANJIT launched its 2024 Corporate Education Volunteer Program, once again bringing together volunteers from various departments to collaborate with local schools. Through a series of interactive and innovative courses combining food education and environmental science, the company deepens its long-term investment in regional education and sustainable development.
Food Education, Stop One: From Farm to Table at Qianfeng Elementary School
The program’s first stop took place at Qianfeng Elementary School in Kaohsiung, where teacher Su Hsin-Mei from Shoushan Junior High School led the design and implementation of the curriculum. In partnership with PANJIT’s volunteers, the program featured a diverse range of activities—from agricultural product mapping and flavor identification to a fun and competitive Junior Chef Contest—offering students a multi-sensory journey into the world of food education.
In the “Flavors of Memory” module, children used their sense of smell and taste to identify various ingredients, learning about the stories behind each food and its environmental impact. The event culminated in the “Qianfeng Junior Chef Competition,” with fresh organic produce generously provided by Genesis Organic Farm, enabling students to cook creative dishes while gaining a real appreciation for the origins and value of every ingredient.
Science Education, Stop Two: A Green Innovation Lab at Beiling Elementary School
he second event took place at Beiling Elementary School, with a hands-on science experiment workshop designed by Elena Picture Book Playground’s Chen Yi. Together with PANJIT’s volunteers, students explored a creative and safe alternative to conventional slime toys in a non-toxic slime science experiment. Breaking away from traditional formulas that rely on borax—a harmful chemical—the children learned how to make colorful, eco-friendly slimes using common household ingredients.
As they learned through play, students not only unleashed their creativity but also took their first steps toward understanding environmentally responsible materials and sustainability concepts. This edutainment approach helped nurture curiosity and confidence in science among the younger generation.
Volunteerism in Action: Infusing Industry with Heart and Responsibility
Through this initiative, PANJIT continues to integrate education, sustainability, and corporate engagement, creating meaningful opportunities for its employees to bring knowledge, care, and inspiration beyond the workplace and into the classroom. By fostering genuine connections with the next generation, the program goes beyond skill-sharing—it plants the seeds for lasting dialogue and mutual growth.
“Letting children see the diversity of the world also helps us rediscover the meaning behind our corporate existence. Every interaction is a seed of sustainability, ready to grow.”
